Bloggers, how do you do it? Plus, new commenting system!
The Blogger’s Dilemna
Seriously, I don’t follow many blogs, but the ones I do are all done by people who also have real paying jobs. So how do you find the time? Do you blog at a certain time every day, or when you get a good idea? Do you set a weekly schedule? What do you use to keep track of ideas? I know Evernote is popular, anyone use it in their blogging process? Because I’m obviously having trouble finding the time and/or motivation to keep it up regularly.
It’s not for lack of ideas, I’ve got plenty of those. Heck I’ve still got stuff from Chile I need to write up. But the time it takes, oy. Because for me to do it right (in my mind) it’s not just the words, it’s the pictures. Finding them, getting them just right, uploading them to WordPress, inserting them and getting the layout the way I want. It just seems more overwhelming here than it did in Chile.
Granted I had more time there. Now if I’m going to do something and not get paid for it there are all sorts of options: housework, walking the dog, websites & video work I’m doing for free. Oh, and there’s also the paid work I do. I think the working from home doesn’t help, too many things pulling at me all the time. But I have found yet another task manager to try out (that’s a whole ‘nother post), so maybe that will help. If I ever remember to put blogging down in it.
Comments, Now Much Easier
I’ve now made it much easier to comment on my blog, while hopefully still making it difficult for spammers. Huzzah! You can log in with any of several social media platforms (more coming soon, hopefully) or just fill in your name and e-mail. While I wait to see how well this is working, comments still need to be approved before appearing, but hopefully I have everything set up correctly and I’ll be able to eliminate that soon too.
So pull up a chair, and start talking. Because I really am interested in feedback on how you regular bloggers do it. And if I get back to regular blogging, I’ll even share my “insights”.
