My Great Gig On the Air, Thanks to 99.9 WWCT Peoria
Last Friday I got to be on the radio! No, not because I’m special, but because I had entered my name to be a guest DJ on 99.9 WWCT. Anyone can enter and they pick randomly, so the amazing thing was that I got the phone call just a day or two after we got back from Chile. And it was on my cell phone which had the number turned off while we were there, so any time earlier and I would have missed my chance. Fate must have been smiling on me.
It was loads of fun, Dani is great at making you feel relaxed and keeping it light and fun, and I just generally had a great time. Plus no one seems to have told me I made a complete ass of myself, so bonus! If you’re interested in putting your name in the hat, here’s the link.
99.9 WWCT, Best Radio Station (in Peoria)
And if you live in Peoria and haven’t been listening to 99.9, well, you’re missing out. This is a great radio station playing a fabulous mix of old and new rock, including alternative/independent bands. Time after time I hear a song on there and say to myself “I can’t believe I’m hearing this on the radio.” In a good way.
Plus they’ve been bringing lots of great shows big and small into town. The station’s been through many formats over the years, but has been on this one for several years, and it’s number one on my dial (how’s that for an old term incomprehensible to today’s youth?). So in sum, great station, great music and you should be listening if you like rock in any form.
And now, some pictures. As you can see, Dani took the only really good one, need to work on my iPhonography skills.
